Welcome to the M-Agriculture Wiki

 

In recent years the ICT4D field has changed its focus profoundly, mainly due to the wide use of mobile phones. Africa has the highest growing rates of mobile subscribers, while other ACP (African-Caribean-Pacific) countries have witnessed similar developments. Within a few years over a billion people  now have access to information and communication technologies. Although the mobile phone dissemination is most remarkable, many other methods of access and new channels for exchange have emerged in the last years. What does that mean for the potential of new service models? How can the success of mobile market information systems or m-banking be adopted for other services particularly in rural areas and for farmers?
